A design created by hand (any medium) or digitally will be accepted.
Design to be presented on a mug or mug format (in original or digital format).

Judging criteria:

• Creativity and originality of the design
• Mastery of chosen medium
• Interpretation and clarity of the theme
• Suitability of the design for a mug.

ANNUAL COUNCIL MEETING 18 March 2024
The Annual Council meeting will be held at the Princess Royal Theatre, Port Talbot on the 18 March 2024.
The morning speaker is The Lord Lieutenant for West Glamorgan, Louise Fleet.
The afternoon speaker is Sue Kent. Sue is an award-winning presenter for BBC2 Gardener’s World, an RHS Ambassador for disability and an RHS and Gardener’s World Live garden design medal winner. Sue is a regular on our screens since joining Gardeners world as a presenter on BBC2 in 2021. She first appeared on our screens during lockdown in 2020 as a guest, presenting from her beautiful garden in South Wales.

1st and best in Show Champion—the class title was ‘A Commemorative
design to depict our Patron the Late Queen Elizabeth II’ her interpretation was ‘Queen Elizabeth II enjoyed the outdoor life at Balmoral'.
1st for ‘Highgrove’ a landscape design
1st for ‘Twinkle Twinkle’ a Miniature user 4 inches.

Not in my Name Competition

The 2023 competition is to ‘Design and Make a Tote Bag’ depicting the Not in my Name campaign to end violence against women.
Any Craft medium and technique accepted.

The closing date for entries to reach NFWI-Wales is Friday 3 November 2023

Candlelight vigil 

to mark 

International White Ribbon Day and the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

20 November 2023 

NFWI-Wales, in partnership with Joyce Watson MS, is organising a candlelight vigil at the Senedd on Monday 20 November 2023.
The event will begin at 6pm and end by 7.30pm.
Confirmed speakers include Jane Hutt MAS, Minister for Social Justice and
Derek Walker, White Ribbon Ambassador and Future Generations Commissioner for Wales. We will also hear from a survivor and a representative from each of the political parties.
WI members are encouraged to join us to show solidarity with survivors of violence
against women across the world and to spread the message that violence against
women is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
